Cognitive behavioral therapy teaches the patient to recognize and change beliefs that affect your ability to overcome certain disorders. In essence, it helps the patient develop good habits and overcome habits that prevent the patient from leading a normal life.
It can take the form of recognition of what makes good behaviour and habits, the elimination of negative thoughts, relaxation techniques, biofeedback on body activity and behaviour monitoring to name a few.
No preparation is required, although patients will be required to follow up on recommended treatment plans.
